Videodrome Vol 1 EP 1
Behind the Green Door
2025-03-19
I decided to try making a video from the back porch. It is not a bad setup for doing video, so maybe this will be the movie set for the Fortress of Solitude. If the weather is not terrible, it is a good place for it. The background is nice, and the table is plenty big to set the camera up. The only issue is the animal noise, but they were busy doing something else this evening, so there were no problems there.
The one flaw in this video scheme thus far is the five-minute limit on video. This is imposed by SubscribeStar, which has a small file size limit. I might abandon posting videos there and post only on Substack. That way I can make longer videos. It is very hard to say anything in a five-minute clip. Ten minutes is about the minimum. Even small topics can demand more than a five-minute rant.
There is a lot to learn with video. The limitations on editing require more planning than with audio, where you can easily stop, back up and start again. You can do that with video, but unless you are Hollywood, the edits are obvious. I have seen video where it looks like the people have something wrong with them as the edits make it seem like they are jerking around.
I am still not sure what I will do with this. Maybe nothing. It is a hobby at this point, so I am trying different things. Once I get the barn cleaned out, I will start on the truck project, so maybe that will be the format. Maybe the show will be Racism and the Art of Old Truck Maintenance. I can discuss the quality of various racisms while also discussing the quality of truck restoration.

Welcome to the back of my porch.
It looks like we're going to get a little weather here.
Kind of get that feel to it where the barometer is dropping.
But you can see behind me is my screens, or it's a screen-in porch.
I don't know how big it is, 10 by 15, something like that.
I'm sitting at a table where six people can sit comfortably,
and I can easily put two tables in here without too much trouble.
So it's a nice big porch.
I come out here in the summer.
Before it was too hot, I would come out in the summer and have dinner in the evening.
And right now it's a good time of year.
Today it's 70 degrees here at the Fortress of Solitude, so...
I'm enjoying this and I'm actually in between doing things.
I just recorded the podcast and next I'm going to start preparing for the show I do
Wednesday nights with Paul,
Paul Ramsey.
So that should be fun.
Tonight's show is going to be,
well,
if you're seeing this after Wednesday,
it'll be yesterday's show,
but,
or day before yesterday,
but no,
it's going to be about the Kennedy and moon landing and space race and,
you know,
all this,
the Kennedy conspiracies and all that kind of stuff.
So,
I think it'll be a fun show, but I have to get prepared for it a little bit.
I've got to practice up on my moon landing conspiracy stuff.
But I tell you, this morning when I was getting ready,
It's been a big day today.
I recorded the show.
I wrote two pieces.
I think, did I write two pieces?
No, I wrote one piece.
I wrote two pieces yesterday.
But anyway, and I have a bunch of work stuff to do, so I've been jamming all day.
But I got up this morning,
and I was immediately in a bad mood because of more crazy judge stuff.
And it occurred to me that what's really going on here is that these courts,
the district courts,
they're called inferior courts,
but these district courts
There's about,
I think,
700,
800 of these courts that they've become sort of the antifa for the blob.
The reason that they exist is to make sure that no one in Congress and no one in
the executive in the White House ever questions the blob,
ever tries to change policy,
because as soon as they do,
well,
these courts will say,
wow,
that's unconstitutional,
or you don't have the authority to do that,
or you violated the law in some way.
That's the game that they play.
And you can see what they're doing with Trump.
I mean, basically, you know, they're taking over all the policies of the executive.
You know, they're ordering the administration to report where planes are and stuff like that.
You can't do that.
One judge,
that was the one that kind of set me up this morning,
is some judge quoting the musical Hamilton said that the military has to start
recruiting and accepting people with mental illness.
Yeah.
It kind of reminded me of when the TSA actually put up a job notice where they
wanted people who were dwarves or schizophrenics.
They wanted to increase their diversity.
So they were looking for all kinds of freaks, I guess.
Well, it's the same kind of thing.
And it's infuriating because it's so unnecessary.
And it's possibly bringing a real crisis to the country.
Because at some point, I mean, you can't impeach these judges.
That's ridiculous.
Yeah.
The Trump administration is going to have to take this head on.
But all of these judges, they've been selected because they're connected to the blob.
It doesn't matter which president picked them, whether it was Democrat or Republican.
Their number one loyalty is to the blob.
And you can understand it.
I mean, these are all mediocrities.
If you look at these district court judges, they're all guys who are average lawyers.
They were very connected politically.
They made the right friends.
That's how they get the judgeship.
You know, they weren't going to be partners at a white shoe firm or a fast riser in litigation.
That's not who they were.
These are guys who just kind of like to coast.
They like working for the government.
And, you know, the post office doesn't pay as well as the federal court.
So here they are.
And they get to pretend to be big shots and arbitrating all these disputes that the
blob says they have to arbitrate.
And that's why they're defending the block.
They want to curtail the power of the executive completely.
They want everything to have to go through them.
And that can't happen.
We can't run the country this way.
This can't go on.
Well, Congress can't impeach these guys.
It's unrealistic.
I mean, they can defund them and stuff, but Congress doesn't have a lot of power here.
Ultimately,
the only way out of this is either the Trump administration just says,
screw you guys,
we're not going to listen to you.
We dare Congress to impeach us.
We're just going to roll ahead.
And the courts can't really do anything about it other than hope that Congress does
impeach Trump.
Or
John Roberts, who is kind of a sissy, the Supreme Court Justice, he cracks down on this stuff.
I mean, it could happen, but I don't think that's likely.
So it's going to get kind of ugly, and it's totally unnecessary, but here we are.
Anyway, I've got to get back to prepping for the show.
I hope everyone enjoys these little short videos, and I will see you next time.
